Owner of A Lonely Heart: A Stray Cat Wanting Some Love

AWWWWWW LOOK A THE KITTY! Is usually a person's response when they come across something that resembles a cat. Naturally, it was ours as well. We thought we could come back sunday and maybe find another sound but out of the blue, when we came up to our car, there was a cat. A stray black and white cat ladies and gentlemen. As my girlfriend began to pet it began to purr. That's when I recieved a wild-grinchy idea. I believe you know the rest from there folks. Enjoy some purrr-rr-rr-ing right here

Cans and Brahms: Fun with Oscar's Home.

Do you hear that? That metallic ping? Do you???? No? Oh well, anyway as we moved on we came across an extremely thick trash can lid atop a trash can. My girlfriend and I decided we could have some fun so we lifted the trash can(quickly realizing why the lid was on in the first place) and placed the microphones inside them. Finding a few rock we decided to hold our breath and tilt the lid on an axis. We then proceeded to drop the rocks at the top and they would rain down. Not the most interesting sound but cool nevertheless. Click here

And You & I: Mountain Lion Moan Blues

Using a very big stick, my girlfriend and I we're able to get the sound of an actual mountain lion moaning and groaning. We came to the conclusion that the park had not yet fed these marvelous creatures, so of course, they were hungry. Intimidating as it was that it started pacing at us, it was very cute for a big kitty, with a very poofy tail. Cue baby talk. We used the stick as a primitive boom stick because for safety the actual fence was far away from the mountain lion cage. That didn't stop two curious minds though. Sound is right here

The Clap: Two Fully Grown Porcupines Attacking Each Other. The Prize: A Piece of Lettuce

It was about 2:30 in the afternoon. Most of the animals had been fed and were adjusting to their afternoon naps. A real pain in the ass for someone trying to get unique sounds. Would the Eagle cooperate? No. The Wisconsin badger? Nah. The fisher, the turkey vulture, the red fox or otter? Would they help me out in my search for sounds. No! After much useless recordings of a badger clawing at a fence, we embarked upon something that had to be heard. The sound of a lifetime, I swear, nothing sounds quite like them. Porcupines, ladies and gentlemen, porcupines. Two of them to be exact, fighting over a piece of tasty green lettuce. Oh happy day was the sight of two fat rodents beating each other up so glorious. I have lived life everyone, I had completed my journey I realized after seeing these fellas duking it out, it was time to push record. Holding hands with my grilfriend we gazed and listened to the wonderful argument these porcupines engaged in. Was it politcs? Global Warming? Or simply, "Hey buddy, get your own lettuce!" How could I go on recording other sounds when the one to rule them all was right here? Well, it was easy, I merely shrugged and we headed off to the mountain lions. But in the meantime, enjoy this great track of porcupines! RIGHT HERE

Going For The One: A Horse-a-Munching

We came across a horse that had just been fed it's afternoon feast, so we took the liberty of listening to the delicious sounds of a horse munching. I feel the horse was a bit intimidated by the microphones so it stomped around a bit. That part of the environmental center is close to a well-used road so cars appear as well. Overall, the horse was extremely cooperative and only went for a bite at my microphones once. It made my girlfriend happy too, because she likes horses so everybody won with this recording. Tempus Fugit: My Map and Walk

My soundwalk took place in my home town environmental center. My girlfriend and I encountered many noises and many sounds. Mostly observing the different noises animals make, It was really cool. We arrived at the parking lot and headed east to the park and the first thing we encountered was a group of horses who had just got fed. Trailing on past a watchtower and past the deer shelter we came across a trash can with a particular sound to the top. Naturally we messed around with the sounds it could produce. As we walked we noticed all the animals were just fed so there was munching sounds all around. The most unique animals that made noise that day was none other then porcupines. We were able to capture two porcupines fighting over lettuce. Not knowing how to top that, we went back west and stumbled upon a moaning mountain lion that was really cool. following our trail back, we then embarked on a seperate part of the park to come across an old lumber saw. Played with for a while and then crossed the street to a pond to have some fun there. As we set out back to ur car of all the luck, we came across a stray cat that started to purr when we petted it. Please note, because we were not aloud to go out side the trails I decide my drift strategy the way I did. Thank you.
