Hello all it is I, Andrew (DIRK) Megow with another fresh and exciting new blog!
Today we are discussing soundwalk drifts.
Whats a soundwalk you say? Well it's a where a mild-mannered individual or someone like me goes on a walk and listen to the sounds they encounter. In the class that these blogs are for, I have been sentenced to go out into the real world and collect sounds. To collect sounds you need the proper equipment and that goes as follows:
-A Mini disk player
-A Mini disk (duh.)
-Headphones
-One left and one right microphone for which was built in class (So for those who aren't in the class, well, your loss)
-A creative mind and the need for sounds
They (The Teachers and his T.A's) told me to embark upon the world and collect sounds and come up with a strategy. At first I was reluctant, but with a little pressure from my girlfriend to do good, I went out in search for unique and awesome sounds. My strategy was as follows:
Find a place and cover alot of area in a circled area upon a map.
UWM is a nice place but I lived in the damn woods for crying out loud so I'm going home and discovering woodland sounds. It'll be awesome just you wait. In fact, near my house there is an enviromental center known as the MacKenzie Center with animals lurking about everywhere. A perfect place. So I will report back shortly. see ya later.
